Ohh that's really difficult.. There are so many.
I think it depends on which style you prefer...
For dark artists (like dark romantic gothic whatever style) I would recommend: `Princess-of-Shadows *AF-studios *Morteque `LuneBleu (she's such a nice person!!) `night-fate *MorbidiaMorthel
Fantasy: *Iardacil ~Ioneek ~JuliSnowWhite ~Lillucyka
Conceptual (dark, in general): ~Lady-Dementia !bitchinblack (unfortunately she deleted her account I guess, but she was awesome!) *michellemonique

Oh there are sooo many more. And so many new ones I don't know by name so far.
Another possibility to discover some more great artists is to browse the photomanip gallery and sort by most popular all time. Mabye you see a style or a work you like and find some nice artists there! Click

Ooooh! Thanks so much for taking your time! I know this ones: Lihanne and flewDesigns (sorry, but I don't know how to insert links here, yet!) They are great, too. I'm investigating a lot these days how to make photomanipulations. I have some ideas in my mind but i haven't the necessary resources to make them.... I'll try...

When you are looking for a really really great basic tutorial to photomanipulation, check this out: [link]
I read it when I began and it inspired me so much. It's written for photoshop, but it explains basics, which can be done with other programs too!
In addition I remember some great tutorials of *Iardacil and `night-fate! They have some nice step by step tutorials for specific works of them. It's really interesting to see how they do it.

Thank you so so much for your help, Vera! I've just finished my first one... It has been difficult finding the proper photos in my collection to create this magical and mystic arabic atmosphere. I hope you like it. There is a lot to learn yet!!!!! jajajaja. I know that expert people in photo manipulations will see many mistakes but... this is the first step of a long long stair!
