EDIT 5.6.09: Redid this work and fixed some mistakes!
First I wanted to create this for the "Lost Maiden" Contest. But then I thought of another aspect and deleted the things which were done. So I cannot submit it for the contest, but be sure: I'll do something new ^^ Nevertheless I'm happy with this work. Maybe you can find out the idea I had
Also kein normales Mädchen. Ich hoffe ich habe dir nicht zuviel reininterpretiert o:
Well, I'm not into photomanip anymore. I realigned and started photography as a more serious hobby. So I just keep my old manips as a memorial for the old times I was never the best and none of my manips are perfect. But I want to keep them, because they represent a phase. So it doesn't matter whether it is from 2007 or not ^^ I won't remove it and I don't think it's relevant. It was done nearly 5 years ago now and don't represent any skills or something, but that's not the purpose of it.
And the overall idea was to create a surreal effect... This is done by the pose (she actually sits on a more or less straight level, but her dress looks as if she is sitting on an edge. I can't explain it better) and the mirror... That was the main idea behind xD So please don't tell me I did something wrong xD That's the concept and if you don't get it, sorry ^^
But thank you for taking the time to comment I always like to read well-thought comments and thought about my works ^^ I just don't agree with you.
Surreal. Yeah, I was wondering about if I was being too picky on whether everything matched up. It did have a nightmare like quality, like how in dreams things just don't make sense, but you accept them for some reason in your dreamy state. I just thought it looked like a lot of other photomanips that are just random things put together to give it an "artsy" look, when in reality, the content is just that random and doesn't make much sense out of context, and even so.
No prob, it's always interesting to hear what other underlying meaning people have to their art. Whether or not I agree the medium or the application expressed that idea to the best it could've been, is what it's all about.
